Mission Statement
Jukes Foundation for Kids (JFK) is a 501c(3) not-for-profit chapter of Ambassador's for Children dedicated to serving children in the United States and in Uganda, Africa by participating in events and projects that will enrich the lives of underprivileged children. We also provide educational financial support for young citizens of Uganda.
Our Cause
Africa
The Jukes Foundation for Kids is dedicated to providing assistance to countless Ugandan students who are led towards a failed education due to inadequate learning supplies, poverty, and lack of schools in the region.
The educational structure is similar to that of the United States:
- Primary (7 years)
- Secondary (4 years)
- Vocational (2 years)
The problem lies in the fact that only 12% of students ever make it to the Secondary level, and only 3% of the population continues on to higher education programs.
While the primary educational phase is funded by the Ugandan government and free, access to the secondary level and beyond, however, are not. This is where the majority of young scholars are denied the opportunity of reaching their full potential.
The Jukes Foundation for Kids plans to provide financial support for children of Uganda to continue their education into secondary schools and to be the bridge that will someday allow them to accomplish their dreams.
We also plan to send books, school supplies, and valuable learning tools to help promote academics and inspire the youth through continued education.
Indianapolis
JFK is also planning volunteer programs and neighborhood projects within Indianapolis to help encourage students to become more involved with improving society. While encouraging the more fortunate to give back to the community, JFK provided opportunities for the under-privileged youth to participate in to keep them off the streets. By giving children positive role models to look up to, the kids will have a model to follow that will lead them in the right direction. The Jukes Foundation for Kids hopes to be the change for those who often never get a chance.
